Take a look at this new dance film- Globe Trot
I am lucky to have been a part of this with filmmakers from all over the world. I taught dance moves to my friends Maddie and Isabelle, and my dear old Dad (he really broke it down at the beach in San Diego). I also got my groove on at the beach… see if you can spot us! Kudos to Mitchell Rose and Bebe Miller for spinning this dance film into action. Enjoy!

1 short film
Earlier this year I was part of a semi-random project to make a short film in one week with Bianca Giaever. If you have a minute to watch her films- do! The week started off as fun morning hang outs/ group therapy about living in New York, but as the week went on and we got more comfortable with each other, we started creating this film. Check out this little diddy and the article written about it here:
I recently directed a video translation of Parting 6, a dance piece by Serena Chang. I first saw the piece at The Department of Dance Winter Concert at The Ohio State University. Something about the piece captivated me, and Serena and I soon began collaborating on moving her piece from stage to screen. The video will up soon, I just can’t wait any longer to share these stills with you!

I haven’t updated since my big move across the country, to Brooklyn. I have been doing a crazy dance daily just to keep my footing in this city. I am thrilled to be living amongst many artists and dancers from all over the world- & I get to live with three of those artists in my own home!
I am excited to share with you that I have already performed two pieces that I felt a strong commitment. The first one was part of the East Village Dance Collective’s show: “The Shell Shocked Nut.” I danced in a piece by Dante Brown | Warehouse Dance. I cherished the experience because the Warehouse dancers got to create movement and dance with young dancers from the East Village Dance Collective. Plus I got to dance as a grannie on stage with my best grannie friend- Maddie Irmen! Our New York debut!
The second performance I was a part of is Quentin Burley’s premiere work in NY, it is a duet titled “Mermaiding on the Rug.” We showed the piece as a work in progress at Wax Works, which takes place at Triskelion Arts, in Williamsburg. I am honored to be dancing in Quentin’s piece with Madeline Irmen, and dancing to an original sound score by Kristen Coburn. Watch the video below.
I just got back from Bates Dance Festival, it was my first summer there and I can tell it won’t be my last!
I danced with an incredible community in Daniel Charon’s class and Kathleen Hermesdorf’s class… and I got to rock out every day to Albert Mathias playing live!
Here I am with my beloved video peeps: Peter, Virginia, Lindsay, and Julia.
We created a lot of content for the BDF Youtube page
I made this new promo for Bates Dance Festival, take a look!
Check out the shiny new site for the Island Dance film Project that I am a part of. This should “tide” you over while we are in post-production!
